Well, went and got myself this:
1978 Volvo 242 DL Coupe!
Was being restored by its owner, he got laid off. Has a couple cars he was restoring. He has just gone thru the whole cooling system. Has mechanical fuel injection. Tires are a bit dry rotted and the carpets are now green from the original yellow, but it looks alright. Little surface rust here and there, not complete rot. Automatic, but I don't care. $700!!!
Now that's got great potential!!

Never picked up the tub. Still sitting up at Kinetic.
It's in super good shape. The few blemishes are the rust spots. The grille is cracked and the taillights are cracked, but still in one piece. Still has the old school AM FM radio in it!
LOL Duke - I was considering getting that Volvo but decided to pass since it was an automatic. Glad to see that it went to someone on this board.

Yea. The automatic doesn't really concern me. I'm just gonna drive it for now until I get enough to get a nice E36 or something. Then I'd just throw a 2.3 Inline 5 Turbo from an 850 and use a 740 manual trans or something

That is one awesome flathood. i used to have a black/black 242 turbo. i never should have sold it.
I love the old volvo coupes. Also, it must be good - we were born in the same year. 
Carpets were brown originally. The really shocking combination was the brown carpets in the orange cars...with orange seats...that fade to green. Wow.
I can dig it... really really dig it.

There's enough S80 T6s with dead transmissions that a B6294T is pretty easy to come buy. Ditch the little twins for a big honking snail, megasquirt and destroy tires at will. At least that's the recipe I've had in the back of my head for my yet to be had 240 and/or a Bertone.
That car is a perfect example of why someone on this board should have bought my 78 242DL for $2500 (obo)... none of the lights were cracked, the paint was redone and in good shape, it had just about 0 rust, new tires, wasnt automatic, had a working original radio + 8 track, hand crank sunroof, blah blah blah.
Nevertheless yours looks like a decent car for the price and obviously i like them or i wouldnt have bought the one i had in the first place. Best of luck with it!

well, i have the money now. 
Problems I have run into:
1. Brakes - It feels like there is nothing there. Not the pedal going to the floor, but takes alot of pressure for it to grab. New booster? Bleed the system?
2. Wipers - Do not work, though if I pull back on the stalk, I can hear the washer tank motor power up. Is it the Wiper Motor that needs changing?
That is all the problems to report as of now. The shock towers squeak some, so I know they are gonna need a set of strut bushings and shocks soon and the tires are kinda dry rotted. The sterio doesn't work, but not really concerned about that yet. Not much as far as power goes. Im assuming it probably has 80hp or so, but like I have told others, I don't care. I know I won't get pulled over for speeding
I believe the wipers are vacuum. Do you hear any vacuum leaks in the dash? If not, could be under the hood.
Yeah, mine felt like 80hp too. But i will say it was the best riding/driving 70s car ive experienced so far so it was nice to just cruise in.
Wipers are electric. Check fuses and connections first, then maybe pull the stalk and check the wires there. The motors don't often go bad, and even then you can potentially open up the case and reaffix the magnets with epoxy to fix the problem.

If I had the money then I would have been on a plane to Texas.
I guess it was pure coincidence that when i fixed my under dash vacuum leak the wipers started working. lawl
Update: September 14th, 2012
Went and got the license plate for it. Cheapest way to go was a normal plate. Drove it a total of 70 miles so far today with another 35 miles left to do to get home.
When it is nice and warmed up, it develops a TERRIBLE misfire. I mean under partial load, it skips every 5 seconds or so. I went and got a set of plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor and am going to swap it all out before I head home
