I'm looking for some guidance on the transmission on the '14 Mustang V6 manual w/ the performance package I bought two weeks ago. Here are some of my observations:
The issues:
-It is Difficult and sometimes physically impossible to engage first gear during a rolling start which is accompanied by a pronounced whining sound.
-Rev hang: On a 1-2 redline shift it takes about 3 seconds for the revs to go back down to 3500rpm to rev match 2nd. gear.
-General difficulty engaging and disengaging gears.
-Violent Shuddering at 2500rpm in 3rd. Gear (one time occurrence)
Other observations:
-While rolling with the clutch completely disengaged at parking lot speeds in 1st. or 2nd. gear there is a faint whining sound similar in pitch to the one I mentioned above.
-The clutch engagement point is considerably closer to the floor than the Mustang that I first test drove
Do you have any ideas as to what might cause this? If there was something binding in the flywheel/clutch assembly, would this have put excessive wear on the synchromeshers or shift forks over the course of 1,000miles?
I have a '13 Mustang with the Perf. Pack. The MT82 is not a great transmission.

Same here. Much of the problem comes from extra squishy shifter mount bushings. An aftermarket shifter mount and bushing might help in this case. I am looking into the kit from Barton, but Steeda and MGW also make short shifters and bushings. Whiteline makes an insert for the stock bushing if you don't want to go all the way with that.

Modern manual cars have rev hang programmed into them for emissions compliance. No way around it except for an ECU reflash, I'm afraid.

I think this is due to the V-6's dual-mass flywheel and two-piece driveshaft creating a resonance.

This two I have not experienced. Take it back for the clutch engagement issue. My Mustang has 32k miles on it and I've never had a problem with clutch engagement, nor any gear whine. Have the shop check the fluid level in the gearbox. Ford switched from 75W-90 to their dual-clutch transmission fluid in 2012.
I know nothing nothing about mustangs or their transmissions.
but you have a brand new car. that means the dealer will fix it for free. they are not all horrible people.
Sounds like a possible throwout bearing issue.
RexSeven is on the right track.
I'd probably go whine at the Ford store, but its possible everything except the rev hang will get better as stuff breaks in. I think once it starts to shift easier, the rev hang will be less troublesome for you.
+1 on have it looked at under warranty and then go from there.
