Yeah, but the turbo rarely seemed to be the issue. The junky 5-speed that had been on its way out in every previous episode was a major sticking point.

Well, the wastegate fell off, and it also built enough heat to lock up the engine...
The wastegate was a fab issue. Poor welds and floppy piping. If they ever did get it dialed in, good lord, it'd be a slayer. I loved how it freight-trained everything. And was impressed with Tony Angelo behind the wheel. Watched him at FD NJ 2014 and he spun literally every run. In the Rotsun, he looked like the Stig
I watched it last night. I thought it was a good episode (there have been a few recently that I didn't finish, like the Hellcat episode and the one where they drove the Subaru around). But I still don't understand why LeMons is so big on costumes. But then again I've never been big on playing dress up.

Well, after the last time with the Fury and the Rotsun's propensity for absolute failure, 24 laps was a big deal.

I guess that you can claim the direct cause of failure was additional heat due to the turbocharger, but the cooling system was pretty mediocre and E36 M3tily designed as is roadkill typical fair. Also, it only reached 230*F at its worst, that should NOT be enough to seize a motor.

Compared to his other escapades, maybe. There was literally no reason for the one wide sweeping exit corner where he continuously overcooked it and nearly flopped it across the track 5 times. That is simply E36 M3 driving.

Lemons people are weird. They also race cars but don't care about being competitive... so that makes it not a race? I guess?

I agree with this, they don't seem to be very good drivers. Oh well.

You don't think those suits pro drivers wear aren't costumes?

I'm with you on that, but to each their own I guess.
I thought it was a pretty good episode, just wish they would have had better luck.
First time seeing this show. Thought it was entertaining. I guess it's their thing though to be poorly prepared and always being rushed. I generally dislike that style of show and work though, plan ahead, cross the t's and dot the i's.
It beat the hellcat episide for sure. Still think the early episodes are the best. The ranchero is the best project car!

Nyan Car melted my face off. I've watched the youtube videos 10 times. My God...its full of stars.

Well, keep in mind, their version of reality is a lot more "real" than the "you've got a week to get it built" car build shows that are all over the place now. Roadkill's misadventures don't seem very scripted at any point.

Yeah, there's no scripting here, because the magazine was always having these sorts of comedies of errors long before the Roadkill show came around.

I loved that era of that mag

I am curious what they did with the truck they bought (didn't say how much). Looks like they CUT the trans out (probably the exhaust?) then didn't even need it! Doh!
I am guessing Pick-a-part got a call.
Love the desperation though.
I really enjoyed this episode. I like being at the track and just driving. Last event I did I had fuel injection and cooling fan issues but over came them to finish the day. I could empathize with them. It's about being there. Sure they could plan better but even the best of us do many of the things they do that lead to similar issues. Just makes it more real to me.

Agreed. I've probably watched 5 or 6, and to me it's just OK, I don't like it as much as a lot of you do. But this last episode was great. It reminded me of everything I loved and hated about my own racing experiences.
