I liked the new karts at k2k. I was a 30 flat with the old ones and now I got down to a 26.93!
Anyone know where I can get an engine for a good price? www.car-part.com keeps coming back with $1000+ options.
In my mind, an engine is ~500$
I'm looking for a subaru 2.5i
Ruh Roh, what's happened?
DirtyImpreza classifieds?
Find where Paul at TIM got his flat 6 Scoobie engines from
In reply to Protege2886:
Parts galore in Warren. had a Legacy wagon a few weeks ago. I don't remember if it had an engine.
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
Typical subie behavior. Snacking on rod bearings. Debating if I just spend the money to repair/replace the engine or if I just get rid of the car and take on a new payment. $1500-2000 repair seems more manageable than a 3 year payment.
In reply to CGLockRacer: That's perfect! I'm actually heading to parts galore tomorrow to check out the yard with some friends.
I was also debating just picking up a car off copart. I found a WRX a month ago that would have been perfect but of course it's gone :(
Bump - Still interested in exploring the engine swap option a little further.
Aside from buying a whole car on copart, looking for engines on craiglists, and browsing the subie forums, does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm looking for a place to buy diecast cars. I've been to "The Autozone" (14mile/woodward). Can anyone recommend other places in nearby? I don't mind driving a bit if I have to.

Just saw this post.
He got it from me though I think he regrets it sometimes. Delivered it from Beverly Hills to AutoEurope back in the day.
Sorry but nothing more to add on the Subie engine front for the OP or the die cast cars.
since this tread seems to have become the MIchigan meet -n- greet thread...
June 29 Auto City Speedway in Flint. Night of Destruction. School Bus figure 8, Trailer races, etc, etc...
Who wants to get their redneck on for the evening?
I'll be going to the Station Wagon car show in Dearborn on either June 28 or 29th, if someone wants to go. We could carpool if anyone wants to tag along near Royal Oak.

Wow, another Beverly Hills-ite. Where are you? I'm next door to Beverly Park, just off of Beverly Road. More importantly who are you and what do you drive?
so, everyone reading this thread knows about the cruise-in tonight TH 20 JUN at the Blue Sky Burgers & Ice Cream at the corner of Eureka Rd and Huron River Dr in Romulus, yes?
In reply to bastomatic: I'll be doing a trackday at Ginerman the 29 and 30th but that wagon show in Dearborn the 28th sounds cool. Where is it at? details?
It actually appears to be a convention of the American Station Wagon Owners Association at the Comfort inn on Michigan ave. the 28th it runs noon to 9 and 9 to 9 on the 29th. Details are sparse, but there is a phone number, I'll call and report back.

Sub on the NE corner of 13 & Evergreen (Westwood) on Sunset Dr. Yup, Sunset Drive in Beverly Hills...Michigan.
My name is Todd. I DD a Subaru Legacy GT specB and play with my 5- speed swapped SVX-green with gold STI BBS wheels. My wife drives a Honda Odyssey currently sporting 19" Saab 9-5 wheels that I picked up at the Saab Royal Oak HQ auction early last spring.
The TIM Sprinter van was in my driveway two days ago just after Paul had the new exhaust installed. He split when he saw my wife coming down the street.

Damn, I konw exactly where you are, I may stalk, err swing buy on hte way home. There's even a cut-through from my sub to yours between Mayfair Lane (Where I am) and Waltham so you could walk faster than drive!
Other than me, on Mayfair there's a Porsche 911 Targe, a Pre A 356, the Formula Continental/E30's/Starion plus a couple of Spec Miata's the other side of Beverly and Paul the other side of Southfield. We've got a veritable mini car club within about a 3/4 mile radius!
it was just an easy way to meet up with the Suddards. There is a cruise there every Thursday (i think) but it's not a 'regular' GRM thing.

I don't know how I missed this thread before!
My name is Brian and I live in Ann Arbor.
I'd love to, um, invite myself to an event! I only have one other friend I can speak car with, even then it's in a funny MG dialect...
I love how I started this thread and yet I somehow always miss the updates :p
I like that it has become the pseudo MI meet thread.
That's ok. I have two car friends. One relies on me to keep his Scirocco running, and the other is obsessed with SVT Contours.
I WISH I knew someone into MGs.
Disclaimer: I am into Neons. However, all 3 are going to be for sale shortly.
So how is life in MI anyway?
