Should read "Hello, I am a spambot probing your website for automated posting capability! Prepare to be offered a barrage of fake documents!"
He's got 46 board posts, which appear to be legit. Methinks the poor guy is on the side of the road somewhere north of Boston attempting to hastily send a distress signal.
Maybe his phone died. Or halfway through his post AAA arrived. Maybe he's still trying to figure out how to post a picture.
I was going to post a link to the GRM on the road assist list if that is the type of assistance he is looking for.
Let's try this again. tried to post from my phone. no emeegency. longtime reader infrequent poster. I am not a Spam bot I live north of Boston I am a mediocre wrench I need to replace the axles and the shocks in my 2003 Passat Wagon I'm wondering if there's anyone in the area that can assist me. I've done a suspension before on my BMW 94 325is In chicagoI . have done a lot lot of caraudio.i have done simple bltons on both on my BMW an my Honda 92 Accord coupe. I gave decent hand tools.
I autocrossed both the accord and the BMW in Chicago. But u know no local auto minded friends. I gave been out of the ax scene for 10 years, never made it to the scene in Boston. I'm concerned that this cars spent it's whole life in the Northeast my 75% confidence rate goes way down when we incorporate rust and God damn pinch bolts so the assistance I'm looking for someone with skill and perhaps better tools than me and maybe even a place to work because it's getting cold that would help me replace the axles and shocks for beer and pizza.
How much beer and pizza with something like this take.
Partly, I am looking for a sensei, master yoda
Long story short. Soonish I will need a third car. My daughters , twins, want my car. a least one wants to ax with dad. I will likely pick up something for me to drive when they get their licenses. My son 11. Want to build a car with me.
We did an image search on google he either wants a 69 Chevelle or a swoopy car like a 3rd gen corvette. Or an Na Miata. I can sell the wife on a Miata. I figure I have 2 years to up my game.

You have some really different price bracket vehicles mentioned there...
69 Chevelle is gonna cost a lot...
3rd gen vette, some, but less if you are ok with a 1980 or so I would think.
Miata could be had cheap.
Attempting to do an expensive car on the cheap will get quickly frustrating, would suggest coming up with a budget and really lean towards doing the cheaper option really well rather than the more expensive option done cheaply.
In reply to Apexcarver:
Only option is the Miata. The other 2 would either be so ratty as to be beyond my skills or time, and not really my idea of fun. They were typical 10 year old dreams. But he like the Na and it's pop-up headlights. So it's all good

Take a look at the linked map and see if there is anyone in your area, then maybe reach out to them directly.

Did not know about this. Very cool!
I'm not listed. Been on the board since 2008.
In reply to trucke:
So post your location in the stickied thread at the top of this forum and get yourself listed!
scooterfrog, I'm pretty local but somewhat useless, as I have no garage. Definitely get yourself out to an autocross this spring though.
I don't have a garage but would be willing to lend a hand if the car was at a place that had a lift and heat. Struts and axles are usually not the big a deal especially if you get a complete strut assembly with the springs and everything already assembled. Since you will have it apart for the struts the axle will be another 15-20 min a side max that is if the axle bolt cooperates.
I hate to say it but "while you are there" you should think about pads and rotors and if the calipers are old change them out as well.
I would shop it all at rockauto to see what it would all come to.
