In my 01 Toyota Sequoia I have had issues with my OBD port. I have two code readers, one handheld and a bluetooth adapter. In order to get any readings from the port I need to use the BT adapter and apply pressure to one side otherwise it gets no power. The handheld one gets absolutely nothing. I was able to use some shims to keep the BT one pressed so I can get readings without holding it but that can't last long and when I need inspection, the guy at the station I am sure will not want to mess around with it.
I am guessing the pins have gotten loose over the years and is not allowing the readers to connect. Is there any easy fix for this with the port in the car? Or do I have to rewire it with something like this replacement kit?
