Anyone else obsess over an irrelevant part of their projects?
I built my own seats for the mg. 1 is done less upholstery the other is a bare frame. Despite the fact that the car is not really ready to run I am obsessing over building new better seats for the car. This is stupid when I know that all energy should go toward just getting it running but I want to go redo something that is perfectly fine. Make me feel less alone.
Are the wire wheels immaculate?

I have machined 6 different IAC adapters because each time I thought I could make them more compact. I cut and welded up four alloy dashes for my fiat but the fifth is being built because I found a better looking and rare coupe cluster that I would prefer to use.

It's funny because I'm annoyed by the same part of my built. The seats are the first part of my project I did (about five years ago), and now I want to re-do them because I find them ugly and they are tighter than I would like. That last part might be because my middle section has grown since then. But then, as I age, I don't think I'll get as slim as I once was.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/unhappy-18.png)

I pulled a perfectly good running engine in the X1/9 so I could paint the engine compartment to match the rest of the car. I think it's put me behind by at least a year.
You're in good company.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/grin-18.png)
I pulled the engine back out of my Miata a couple weeks ago simply because the engine bay wasn't clean enough.
Little details keep my cars from ever being finished.
I spent a whole weekend making (and remaking) a flippable (L to R) seat bracket for a race car I need to actually race in 10 days even though the thing isn't wired or fire bottled, none of the nets are in and I don't even need a passenger seat to race it. WTF is wrong with me.
I do the same thing, but usually with better timing ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
Yep pretty much my way in every build.
