Oh snap... Someone's E36 M3 ate a Coyote....

For a while, for the RX-7, I was thinking of a 4.6 DOHC from a Mark VIII since they are really really cheap compared to the Cobra engine, and they're still all aluminum, and so what if it's only 290hp? It's still a ridiculously smooth, linear powerplant.

It will fit in an FB. Probably better than in a Mustang.

But the transmission options... oi! Nothin' good for a Ford unless you don't want overdrive.

I'm sure the new ones are better, but I felt such a profound sense of loss the first time I drove a 4 cam SVT Mustang. It was a 99, with an absurd highway final drive ratio, but my 4.8 Silverado felt faster.
