The Monte Carlo never did much for me, but I saw one build in which a guy shoved Trans Am bits underneath a Grand Prix. I thought that was kind of neat.

seriously used late model stockcars are a lot of power, potential and fun for the dollar. Traction is just better tire selection away

I actually like that body style. I hated it when it first came out but it has since grown on me. Just that I believe that it is a front wheel drive with a 5.3 in the SS. this really needs to be made back in to a RWD and it would be cool to make it handle while I was there. I wonder if the wheel bace is similar enough to make it work. An F body swap over is probably a better easier option but I just like hiding a C5 suspension under it. Would be fun to DD and take to a test and tune day at the track every now and then.

It's probably easier to make one streetable than to stuff a Corvette under a stock one.

Sorry, but I couldn't be seen in any of the Lumina iterations GM put out. Not only is it unattractive, it's the epitome of what was (is?) wrong with GM. Take the lumina, put a "3" on the side and it'll sell to all the NASCAR fans.
I know, no "3" on that one, but I think you follow me.

I'm pretty sure the Monte SS is only a supercharged 3.8.

The Impala SS and Grand Prix GXP got the 5.3.

To your original question. How good are you with a grinder and a welder? What would be your budget? Just off the top of my head I'd figure around 18k would get it close.

If you cannot get that idea out of your head you can always try Treppaning.
