Brainstorming a bit, could one run One Lap in a sport truck in a Dakar truck fashion as a competitor/support vehicle? Say as a multi vehicle team with the truck hauling tools and parts, or independent and selling your cargo capacity. I feel this would be against the spirt of the event, but possibly within a grey area rule wise.
Any merit to the concept?
Completely against the rules and the spirit. You need to carry all of your own stuff.
You're welcome to tag along, and the Toyota 'factory' FRS last year had a press car that did that, but they still carried all of their gear and spares.

I'm thinking in the Smokey Yunick school of rule interpretation. The truck would fully compete as well. Although after looking over the rules again, I'm not sure how much support would be needed, aside from carrying more tools or amenities for the pits.

BEER! You gotta bring beer. Some areas are still dry??
Selling your cargo room to other teams? No way.
