That sounds fun! I can't do it for you (obviously) but if you want to swing by and puzzle it out, drop me a line!
Yes I want to be the builder. A bit of help from a more motorcycle kind of guy and fabricator is about what I need. Especially with design and fab of mounting the 550 to the frame. Once I get the front disc swap settled that would be the next step. Don’t know how soon that will be but I will keep you in mind. I’m Larry. Thank you
Since it's now 2025 I thought I'd bump this up.
All the big tools are still here. I've had no major additions this year but I've made some improvements. I've also branched out into 3D printing and have a 3D scanner on its way.
Still available are, of course, the mill, lathe, CNC plasma table, CNC mill, welders, presses, etc.
I don't want any money, I just want to be able to share the shop and help folks out who aren't so lucky as to have a fab shop in their back yard!
This is a very cool offer. I'm not in the right location to make it work but props to you for making the offer and I hope that someone gets to take you up on it. Making friends in hobbies is often the best part of hobbies.
Hmmm...I'll be in the area in a couple of weeks.
I should not be left unsupervised on Saturday nights. Saturday nights are when I smoke cigars with a buddy. When he's unavailable and my wife is out I tend to spend money.
Last month I impulse-purchased a 3D scanner (Einstar Vega). Neat.
A couple weeks ago I was left unattended and purchased a CNC press brake.
Cigars are cheap compared to tools. Anyway, now I have a 3D scanner and CNC press brake if anyone can make use of those things.

I went to school with a guy that sells used tooling that he buys wholesale if you need anything specific I can put you in contact.
My buddy just shared this thread with me after seeing us chatting on my build thread! Your tool collection and generosity are both incredible!
there's definitely a couple upcoming tasks that a welder would be handy for, I like to think I'm pretty mechanically adept, but hot gluing metal together has never been something I've had the pleasure of learning and rely on other more skilled folks for. I'm a designer by day so if I can ever repay the offer with any CAD support let me know :) and we'll certainly be in touch once the car is running and I'm ready to weld the m3 v-brace mounts into place.

Phoenix is a big area (my son lives there) so what part of the big P are you in? His shop is west of PV about 15 min - no idea what the area is called, but it's straight north of downtown.

Welding isn't that hard. I'm self-taught but am now an AWS-certified welder. Additionally, I regularly teach people (my employees and friends alike) to weld. Wire welding is the most common but I also do stick and TIG (DC and AC) and can teach you if you like. Obviously I'm also more than happy to help out in general if you just need some pieces buzzed on.
I dabble in design but could *definitely* use a hand with CAD. I primarily use F3D but need to dip my toes more into SolidWorks, and I should really be more familiar with construction-oriented CAD. One thing that's been vexatious to me is complex shapes: I keep wanting to create a hyperbolic paraboloid in F3D because that's a shape that one of my companies works with often, but I cannot figure out how to model that and that annoys me.
MiniDave :
I'm in NW Mesa. If your son is north of downtown he's probably about 25-30 minutes from me depending on traffic.
RacetruckRon :
I'm always vaguely shopping. There are some tools I'm kinda-sorta on the lookout for (e.g. fiber laser) but I'd have to free up some space/resources for the bigger ones. What kind of tooling does your guy specialize in? I'd love to make his contact, thanks!

I am in the wrong area for this offer, but truly respect the offering you have put out.
