OK, so my old man car (99 Grand Marquis LS non-air ride) has developed a squeak in the rear suspension, and it's driving me nuts. I can easily replicate it by pushing down on the rear. The shock doesn't seem blown, so I am a bit confused as to what could be causing it.

Any ideas?

Bushings. Fords are notorious for that and squeaky ball joints. You might try a spray dry lube.

What toyman said. Mine did the same, it was both arms attached near the pumpkin. Dry silicone fixed that
