Just back from a 3 day weekend to Tucson for a wedding. Almost died... but not quite. Anyway, the pleasant surprise was the inlaws Sorento. They bought it late spring last year, FWD 3.3. Well equipped wiothout being silly. Drove it back to Phoenix for the flight home and averaged 31.x mpg. Wife drove it back, and the round trip 230 miles average was 30.9 mpg. Highway speeds were 80-85, state road speeds at 65-70. This thing has plenty of room, comfort and zip. Need to pass that slower car? No problem. 3 gears down instantly, and you're now at 90. AC never turns off because desert in the summer.

So if you need a nice to drive people mover that will sip the fuel without the batteries, this is a winner.

Not necessarily. I mean, the old Forte on that same drive would have been 29mpg. This thing is twice the size and gets better.
