Pink works on those cars. Awesome.
Anyone who is willing to put up with driving a Lotus is awesome.

Maybe if Hess's was hot pink, the dumb kid would have seen it and managed not to hit it...

Why would you think she doesn't know how to drive it? I wouldn't be surprised if she could out drive most of this forum's members. Not to many people buy a Lotus as a fashion accessory.

I think I know why

This is just wrong. Bet she can drive the wheels off it and out drive most of us here on grm. Statements like this is why the ladies don't stay long here.
I rocked a pink Escort GT in the 90's, hell yes I'd rock a pink Lotus...especially if it could be purchased at a significant discount.
I would feel sorry for the Lotus if it were painted beige. Elises just need loud, over the top colors.

Exactly. I'm so sick of Black, Red and Gray.
Ever wonder why there are so few females that autocross?
Yea.
I really enjoyed watching my wife run a lot faster than most men at our events. At a convention, one guy commented about her spinning the tires at the start was slow. Thankfully, a friend of ours was standing next to me and commented to the idea "I wish I could be that slow"- she was 4th overall for the entire event.
Not having to deal with the machismo that get so many men upset that they are slow is one of many reasons we don't go anymore. Hey, it's not her fault that you suck.

Not surprised since what makes this place comfortable is that people post like there are no women in the room. Hence there are not.

I don't know... I tend to think it's because women are more intelligent and find better things to do on a Sunday than stand around in a parking lot all day baking in the sun...
I've never really seen a lot of macho-ism at our region. Granted, we have a couple of women who help run the events. I know folks tend to diss Philly events for various reasons, and some may be valid, but as a rule I think we are women and kid (kart) friendly.
My ex- definitely had more raw talent than me, but is so freakin' competitive she just couldn't handle losing while she learned. It really irked her to lose to me in my bone stock TDI wagon while driving her modified MCS. I tried to explain to her that while I may be new to autocross, from years of DH racing I am by no means new to timed competition and reading & memorizing lines.

Ignorant posts make this place feel more comfortable to you?
Driven5 wrote:NOHOME wrote: Not surprised since what makes this place comfortable is that people post like there are no women in the room.Ignorant posts make this place feel *more* comfortable to you?
Well, the PC answer is no.
However, I will say there is an aspect to that I agree with. It's similar to how difficult it is to be funny around people you don't know. If you don't know where the lines are, you are always afraid to cross something you don't know about.
Here, you can be comfortable to speak your mind and trust that A. people will let you know if you crossed the line and (more importantly) B. you will be given a second chance. You will not be banned or flamed for a small mistake (think of the email thread to a performance suspension supplier, this thread is also a perfect example).
Everybody is ignorant at least once, and I think it is the tolerance we have for that around here that makes it comfortable.

More like I find the non-filtered off the cuff post to be to my liking. Of course this does leave room for the insult seekers to reconstitute any and all prose until they can find fault with whatever is written, but that is their problem not mine.
But thanks for taking the time to try and put words in my mouth regardless of what I wrote.
I think the pink works great on the Lotus. Maybe not what I'd pick for myself but a Lotus doesn't need a bland colour.

Glad I could make the kind of post that is to your liking.
...Of course, I still don't see how women being around prevents any such comments either.
Hess - let me know if you have a hardtop for an Elise - ideally blue but any color considered if the price is right.
I can arrange freight back to WI.
That any girl would pick a lotus over any other pink car says a lot, she may be more of a gearhead than most of us.
Girls are great, Lotii are awesome. I understand the OP but that color could easily grow on me.
I love the fact that the owner drives (has driven) it hard.
Too bad there's so few females here. They improve most things in life with the one exception being male ego's.

The hard top I have is Carbon Fiber. I guess technically the color is "clear" over the carbon fiber weave.
