This caught my eye at a car show last week:
That's fairly discreet and I bet a pretty big upgrade in performance. What's stock, rear only cable drums?
It must have taken very careful master cylinder selection to keep the brake pedal from working like a locked/unlocked switch.
ZOMGWTFBBQ!?!? That car is ruined! That owner should be killed! WRNFTREDERDGHHGH!
Good for the owner making a car a little more drivable and lot more likely to be driven and enjoined by all.
Enjoyable, not to mention safer. Cool!
There was a car in hot rod magazine years ago that was an old ford model a or something that had replica aluminum wheels painted to look wooden, and a detuned cosworth rally car engine disguised as an old four banger. They didn't disclose who owned it but it was a prominent European rally driver.
Those Wilwood calipers make me smile.

The owner lives around the corner from me. He is the president of the Model T Club of America. I think he's okay with the lack of originality.

Not even...
The original brakes on the Model T consisted of a single drum on the driveshaft. There are no front brakes. If you have an aftermarket Ruckstell Two Speed Rear ("Four Speeds for Fords!"), which this car does, and you get hung up in rear diff neutral, you have no brakes at all.
Back in the day, when someone added a Ruckstell to their T, they generally added Rocky Mountain Brakes to the rear wheels.
if he did that, then he's probably already got a Toyota distributor and a small Japanese alternator of some flavor on the car already... has anyone ever megasquirted one of these?
I'm picturing some kind of Wil-e-Coyote-esqe accident here, where all the spokes shatter under heavy breaking and the hoops continue rolling down the road into a dynamite truck.
Apart from that, it looks pretty stealthy, and I bet it's a huge improvement in safety from a braking system similar to my tractor.

I thought about that, but those tires won't be able to create anywhere near enough grip to snap those spokes.

He'll never get going very fast either.

This thought has crossed my mind. If I had unlimited time I'd do all sorts of weird E36 M3.
You'll need to log in to post.
