The SEMA Show, the other industry staple, will also not take place this year. To help …

Not surprised, that show is always packed like sardines.

Sad, but not surprising. We hadn't booked a booth or hotel where I worked because we were pretty sure this would happen. I couldn't see how they would manage to keep social distancing at an event like this, there would probably be travel restrictions keeping international travelers out, and I suspect a lot of the people who would attend would be serious COVID deniers (since those worried about it would probably stay home).

Really glad I made it to SEMA and PRI last year as my first attendance on both now.

To those that work with or for sanctioning bodies, drivers or teams with sponsors. This is an opportunity during a strange time. Take the initiative to visit those current sponsors and meet with them socially distanced mask to mask. And to also do so with potential future sponsors. this will show initiative and differentiate you from other teams that only make annual contact with them face to face at shows such as PRI. I suggested this to an organization that I used to be affiliated with, who previously had a $35,000 a year sponsorship from a certain tire manufacturer, as of last week that deal is now worth and excess of $160,000 a year. During a horrific market for Motorsport tire suppliers.

So go differentiate yourself and do good by your sponsor partners.

Good point. Whether virtually or not, some personal contact is usually much appreciated.

being able to be sucsessful in this environment shows hussle and finding spots that make sense is interesting. Some busineses seems to be thrive and others are failing, its quite bizzare.
