This popped up locally. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be built to A-mod standards so I'm not sure what it would be good for other than playing around in local autocrosses.
The kid selling it really has no idea what it's worth. What say the hive?

$1500 would be my offer if the car appears reasonably well built, the engine seems good, and the trailer is ok. Possibly more with documentation, possibly less if there are visible problems.
There could be some demons hiding there with an unknown past, and you'll have some $$ into it if you want to be somewhat competitive.
It was built by a machinist/local racer 15-20 years ago and never run. Apparently the guy built it and something happened so it just sat in his garage for years.
Tires are original and everything is old but unused. Also unsorted, it never had the "bugs" worked out.
I wonder if the "never run" issue and the "something" causing it to not compete was a SCCA rule violation?

At $1500, I'm sure it wouldn't be too out of the realm to have it made to meet the rules. Hopefully.
Too bad it's $5000 obo. Too much money for 1970s/80s tech of questionable history/quality
