I liked their looks fine. For a few years they were reliably the college student car most likely to pass me on 101 doing 80+. There are probably a few more still around than Vegas which would rust into nothing. My buddy had one, the wagon, that you could get into using a coat hanger past the door rubber in ten seconds, it's too long of a story though. And the gas tank fix wasn't hard to do I am told, or you could just put in a cell. My roommate's Pinto, though, would die if the rain was too heavy, that was a bummer.

I don't remember much about it other than one was in a car/road & driver/track rag and I don't know if the above car is even one of them.

The car featured in this article is Mike Streets' car, my Uncle, I actually run the last Pinto run by him, my Father Barry Streets, and Brother-in-law Dan Pellow. Mine is the car (#15 and later #12 and #42) of Barry Streets in SCCA ITB San Francisco Region. I can attest to the racing pedigree that Mike tuned this car off of.
