Yes, but the combination of where it is, the sensitivity of the switch, is all but impossible for me to use it that way when the car is moving.

Well, think i'm about to retire my 32 year old Infiniti G20 from DD duty. Chasing an overheating issue that pops up after an hour of city driving while sitting in traffic or a drive-thru line. Fans appear to be working fine but there is a phantom leak from the cooling system so i'm thinking i've got a head gasket slowly giving up. Think it's time for a new not-quite-as-old work beater. Maybe a 15-something year old G8 or a reasonably-priced GTO if I can find one.. I've kind of got a V8 Pontiac fetish, i would do unspeakable things for a 79 Trans Am 400 - 4 speed or a 74 - 76 SD 455..
