Hi all,
I'm re-engineering the shift linkage for my 012-01E swap in my mid-engine mk1 vw rabbit, and I need new longer cables.
I originally built my shift linkage using McMaster Carr 1/4-28 push-pull cables. It worked just fine. Rated for 170lbs pull, 130 push.
I've been talking to the guys at daytonclutch, and they say that I could run 10-32 and get 2" min-radius cable, which woud be really nice.

Their 10-32 is rated at 120/70 push/pull with a 2" min-radius, and the 1/4-28 is rated at 230/125 push/pull with a 3" min-radius.
The 1/4-28 would probably do the job (it needs to to a 180 degree turn at the back of the car), and I usually over engineer everything... but this is a case where I'm wondering if it's ok to step it down a notch to make my life easier.
Thoughts?
