Are these wheels desirable in the BMW world?
It depends on whether you're talking about intrinsic value, or by weight.
By weight, there's a lot of aluminum there.

Well, there is that. I was thinking I could snag the car then sell the wheels and make my some or hopefully most of money back then slap on some cheap wheels and have an Autocross beater at almost $0 invested.
I have been looking around in the used market for BMW wheels of that size and offset. No style preference, just scrounging for a budget set of track wheels for wet tires. There seem to be far more sellers than buyers.

If it's a cheap 318ti in the Midwest odds are it's a bucket o' rust.
Underbody rust, cooling system, price of replacement parts... aaaaaaaand I've talked myself out of another car purchase. lol

I know what happened:
Now look, The_Jed. The trade for the uniforms I can understand. But to buy this 318, you got to be crazy! It's a piece of junk. The coolant system breaks all over the place! It's a piece of junk!
