So I got my pads and rotors from 5x racing. John helped chase em down at carbotech.
But i didn't order the brake fluid because it seemed like a haz mat shipping charge was going to be applied.
Big question on Sat morning is where to buy ATE, Motul etc. in Pcola? It would help if they were open on the weekend, but I can wait till Mon.
if you can find a big enough NAPA store, they might stock their DOT 5.1.
part number 51032 or 51012
Motorcycle shops that deal in sport bikes will have all the top of the line brake fluid you could want (Motul, ATE). I buy it at Cycle Gear here in Phoenix, it show a bunch of stores in Florida. Not sure how close one is to you.
Ahh that sounds good. The guy at the NAPA did ask if it was for a bike.. Not sure that dot 5.1 is the same as the high temp fluid like the Ford Blue and such. There are two speed shops in town, but they close on the weekend? WUWT
Wilwood Racing Brake Fluid (DOT4) shows up in hot rod shops once in a while. It is every bit as good as ATE Typ200 and cheaper.
My dad and I used Ford big truck brake fluid for years, until they caught on to a LOT of SCCA people using it and made it as expensive as comparable fluid. We got that tip from Randy Pobst who used it in his Showroom Stock Miata.

That's an old Carroll Smith tip. Be aware that most suppliers have reformulated it from the old 550 degree bp to a 500 degree bp.
