I have a car that came pre wired from a previous owner for a radar detector.  Can I use that wire for dashcam power if I put the correct end on it?  Haven't researched yet since you all know everything!  Thanks!

I don't see why not. From what I've experienced, those kind of small accessories will run on pretty much any 12V power source. I've powered lots of radar detectors by the tried and true method of "find a hot wire nearby".

Short answer is yes, but -

Depending how the previous owner wired it  and where the wires run, it may actually be easier to wire it separately to a nearby fuse box. "Most" cars have both ignition-hot and always-hot circuits in under-dash fuse boxes.

Make sure it's 12v.  Some cams run on less and if they put an adapter in before the wiring it might be 5v

Most dash cams uses a USB C connector, that one is hard to splice into a 12v circuit.   Good Luck
