Last time I went (1981??) I got a speeding ticket at 2:00 AM, but the rally was still fun watching. I should see if I can find my old 35mm slides and download some pictures of the competitors of that era.
I've gone the last two years running. Planning on going this year but not sure. If I do, I'm going to try to catch the Brampton Battalion-London Knights games on Sunday on the drive home.
I've been spectating the tall pines since i was 6 or 7, so 13 ish years, ill be there again!
My uncle had a ae86 rallycar that they fielded, usually finished.
And ive got the 1988 running of the event on VHS, yeahhhhh :D
I haven't been since they still had the night stage. Do they do something to replace that spectacle?
I was in Bancroft this summer, and saw that the S bend used in the night stage is paved now. That's a shame.
Yeah and its quite lack luster, stand out there wait two hours and watch them fling through a field.. The castledine stage at night was just an incredible atmosphere, the new golton night stage is just lame to spectate.

Not just paved but they also put guard rails up on both sides.
Like others have said, the night spectator point is a super special right on the south end of town. It is the area that we use for a rally-X course.

OH MY YES!!

I might fly out to spectate... watching Antoine, Pat, David, with people like Leo, Ugo, Craig, Bruno, and others chasing will be spectacular.
Of course, if I fly out, I might as well co-drive...
Already up to 54 with 4-5 more teams that are apparantly sending entries. The seeded draw is tomorrow night at 8 pm.
Might make 60 entries by then!
The current number is 59 entries. One withdrawal.

The entry list is pretty cool - Pug 205 Turbo AWD, lots of Fiestas, of course tons of Subies. Good AWD and 2WD entry list.
BTW sorry on the title screw-up - it is the 2011 edition not 2012!
Back up to 60.
and lookee here - TV2Go is doing Live streaming from Pines!

I'm heading up this afternoon and will be at the volunteer meeting this evening. I'm the bald guy with the Hulk Hogan mustache (it's Movember, yes it looks ridiculous, and I'm shaving it off at 12:01 am on December 1st ). Come up and say hi if you see me.
