"In 2015 Rally West Virginia will be the American event of the FIA NACAM Rally Championship. The FIA NACAM Rally Championship is one of the six International status regional rally championship like the ERC, APRC, Middle-East and African Championships. Car class are R1-R5 plus new a "national class" classification that is being discussed for inclusion. The event will on July 14-25 and will be headquartered in Marlinton, WV with lodging at Snowshoe Mountain. Look for the Rally Guide to be published in March and Supplementary Regulations in April."
From Rally West Virginia's facebook page. I know that they've been working on this for the last 2-3 years and it's great to see happen. This could be the first step to seeing a full fletched WRC event back on US soil in another 2-3 years.
Cool that they finally got somewhere with it. Hopefully I can make it down this year since it is the closest rally to me.
Provided this doesn't mean they're dropping RallyMoto for that event, I am very excited! Also excited even if they do, but I wanna race goddammit...

I'm sure my current crew (girlfriend and dog) would appreciate some assistance Although, you could always compete too!
That's interesting news. I haven't been in a number of years but I've been stage captain, 00 car, course checker, etc. for Rally WV in the past. Haven't been involved in any kind of rally anything in a while but I may have to put this on my calendar. Or maybe it's time to get involved as a driver, hmmmm.

you mean volunteer right? (I got Anders to open up volunteer registration today, it's the best seat in the house)
I have spectated and volunteered at STPR and it is a blast. Hope to make this on the calendar this year.
That's a 30 mile drive from my parent's house, up the very-nice-to-drive RT219 - think I'll go for a visit that weekend.
If I can figure out how to insure the rally car in the US only, I might be able to run some events. Ontario insurance sucks.
You need to find someone in the states to "sell" it to so that it's registered and insuranc in their name in the states for you to run as a "rental" with "paperwork" for competition weekends

I AM NOT digging the looks of that log-trailer parked there. Sure, I understand it's not any harder or immovable than an oak tree but it simply doesn't HAVE to be there. Move it please.
