So the front lips on the 911 like to catch on things and crack. They're not expensive at $102 shipped from eBay but it looks like something I should easily be able to fix with a plastic welder.
So I kinda wanna try messing around with one. Harbor Freight has a few for sale, are any of them any good? Or is another one (which one?) clearly the one to get?
Thanks for the help!
I have the deluxe hf one, the hot air machine. It works, but when working on a bike seat pan, I had better luck with a piece of the same plastic lit on fire and dripping molten plastic on/in the crack.
Weller brand pistol grip soldering irons often include several tip shapes that are useful for plastic welding. I used the spoon shaped one to repair the polyethylene fuel tank in an Alpine A110, using scrap Scalextric slot car track for the filler. Holds gasoline.
