I have been looking for a diesel SUV and been leaning towards the Euro's. Looked at the X5, Q5 but nothing has come up. Recently found a Q7 that looks pretty nice just wondering how they are repair wise? I am looking at vehicles with 50k+ miles.

Does anyone have any experience with one?

The diesel motor is pretty bulletproof, much more than the X5.  That thing apparently is a piece of junk.  Even my BMW friends warned me not to own one out of warranty.

We have a Cayenne diesel, so same powertrain as the Q7 diesel, totally bombproof so far.

Thanks for the input, what year is yours and how many miles?

2015 with 25k miles.  Friend has a '13 with 129k miles and basically hasn't had any issues with it.

A friend has a Q7.  It's a few years old.  The 3.0 diesel had some major oil leaks at the rear of the engine.  It was all repaired by Audi.  They have had no other trouble with it.  They used it to tow an Air Nautique boat with no issues.  The Q7 is a daily with a Tundra now used for towing duties.  No idea on how many miles.
