Air is only real option
Will add CB and Cellular Amp
Thoughts
What are you defining as a nanny monitor?
Wifi connection?
Efi?
Traction control?
Abs?
Stability control?
Fm radio?
If you are looking for something with NO connectivity to the outside world (other than radio stations), I think you are looking for pre 2010 and possible very early 2000s.
Even my 10 year old Chevy has wifi ability and Bluetooth, satellite radio, abs, traction control, efi, etc. Not sure it actually communicates anything to the outside world, but I imagine it has the ability to do so in certain circumstances.
My D2 Crew is a pretty good Epic Road Trip choice, but it's a bit thirsty with the 440, and it has factory installed AM/FM/8 track.
Not sure of your budget, but it would be just at 5 figures with under 80K mi and A/C and CC.
2010ish F250/F350 XL trim. If you're not careful you'll be hand cranking the windows (my 2006 F550 is manual windows).
If you don't want EFI then you're going to be looking for something from the '80s at the latest.
will be selling in the next few weeks....
Only thing is a Kenwood CD player with Bluetooth and tbi/4l80e/abs.
Hand Crank Windows aren't an issue
EFI is not a plus or a minus
ABS falls within that same range of MEH
Thanks

'21 Tundra is basically the same as the '07. Has 8 cylinders and uses them all (there's a song here somewhere), 6 spd auto. 38 gallon tank. Just a dumb old tank of a truck. Pretty comfy too. The only problem is their drinking habit. You might manage 17 if you really take it easy on back roads. 20 is not within the capabilities of that truck.
Edit; didn't read the whole thread. Sounds like you might have found something. Good luck on your trip.
Had a Chevrolet 454 Long Bed dually that had a similar problem.
But it only got 9 empty, loaded, up hill down hill, wind in its face wind at it back
Even on the roll back it only got 9 mpg
Sounds fun. I've been lusting after an early 70's dentside Ford F-series 4x4 with a straight 6 and manual trans for similar reasons. Just basic mechanical truckiness.

My brother in law bought an F-series with that exact specification new in 1974 or 1975, it was a nice truck. The straight six had decent power and pretty good mileage.

A 2010 Dodge Ram could be had without wifi and traction control. It'll do bluetooth for phone calls but not music. The satellite radio only works if you pay for a subscription, so it can easily be ignored. It has ABS but doing without that on purpose is dumb, especially on a truck.
You might be surprised, people who actually do work with their trucks like a lot of those modern features.
One of the trucks in my work fleet is a 2013 Silverado 2500. It's as basic as a truck can get. It does have EFI and ABS but that's about it. AM/FM radio (no BT), manual crank windows, etc. The only options it has are A/C and the tow package; I would like to add a backup camera.
It's probably more recent than you'd think, but bare-bones trucks were made at least fairly recently.
Thanks for all the input
Work trucks are still out there
