Any one else Chumping in Wisconsin this weekend?
yep. if you see anyone wearing a green GRM "SECURITY" t-shirt, that's either me or the person who killed me and stole my green GRM "SECURITY" t-shirt.
i will be there with the Saturn Art Car. look for us in the winner's circle both days, LOL.
Sweet deal, I'll look out for you guys. I'm with the red Alfa, so we're set to break down inexplicably in the first 30 minutes.
Corvair: Didn't see a greet GRM t shirt, but it was kind of chilly. Got busy fixing the car and never got around to introducing myself. Tough luck with the transmission, but you were pretty damn fast on Saturday. We were impressed.
Jungle: Car looked good. Sure looked like it was getting around pretty well.
Our fuel pump gave up a couple hours in on Saturday, and we blew the head gasket with about 20 minutes left. Kind of a bummer, but we all had fun and the car was a hoot to thrash around, if a wee bit underpowered in a straight line. We'll rehab the car and be back for more.

the SECURITY shirt never made it out of the bag. at about the 6:30 mark on saturday, all four left front wheel studs sheared off and we lost the LF wheel in Turn 3. At the time we were in 5th place, about 40 seconds in front of the lexus. We lost a few laps to the field and ended up in 8th. On Sunday a chunk of transaxle case went missing about 5 laps into the race, so we dumped all our fluid and were a DNF. it happens.
we still had a great time and are plotting on some improvements to the car and to our pit work. next event for us is MIS in August.
Ha, yeah, our youngest driver said you were in the tires at 3 and THOUGHT you were missing the drivers front. Must have been just a couple laps before he cooked the head gasket. That Lexus was quite the machine; turned in some good times and sounded sweet. Nice work on maintaining a lead that far through the race.
Think our next scheduled is Iowa Speedway in August. Would like to make it to Brainerd, but not sure it'll happen this year.

yeah, that lexus was an animal, but it went through a lot of fuel. they came in at 10:15 on saturday and put about 19 gallons in it. we came in at 10:45 and put in 10.5 gallons. that's a typical stint for us, somewhere between 10.0 and 11.5 gallons for 1:45 of racing. the driver who lost the wheel turned a 3:03.4xx around lap 100, which was pretty decent considering the fast lap on Saturday was 2:58.xxx.
