I'm getting ready to sell my '04 Mazdaspeed Miata and I'm caught in an endless loop as to whether or not to pull most of the mods off, first. An unmodified MSM will get the most money, but mine has a couple of things that I'm not going to be able to remove. Currently, the car has an FM exhaust and downpipe, BEGI intake, larger intercooler, and VMaxx coilovers. I can pull the exhaust and intake to sell separately, but I won't be able to return the shocks or intercooler back to stock, so I won't be able to completely return the car to OEM spec. Since the car will already have some mods still installed, am I better off just leaving everything on it? I also have to factor in my spare time available (none) to do the work. I'll be including everything pulled off of the car as part of the sale. I'm leaning towards selling as-is, since I don't expect to make Bring-A-Trailer money off of it, but I guess I'd like to get a little reassurance from the hive.

Thanks!

What's your time worth? It it it more or less than the delta between selling the exhaust and intake separately and including them the in car?

Personally, seeing as how you have no free time, I'd sell it all in the car and sell as-is. There's something to be said about getting things done as easily as possible.

Edit: I reread your post and saw that you're planning on including the parts in the sale regardless. That seems like a huge waste of your time. The "unmodified car" idea is already gone, like you said.

This. If you're going to include the parts, just give them stock ones and get it gone.

There must be something in the water.  I've been thinking about selling my MSM as well.  It's quite a bit more modified and would require some effort to put back to stock.  So I would sell it as-is and provide the original parts to the new owner.  If they swap it back to stock, they will understand the modifications. smiley

Mine's been my daily driver since I bought it in 2013. I rarely put the top down anymore (skin cancer) and I've just been ready for something new, like the '23 BRZ I recently bought to replace it.

@Jerry, no recent pics, yet. I need to wash it, first!
