At our last track day in Grand Junction, a group of us were standing trackside and shouting VTEC! like a toast every time a particular Civic flipped cams.

A couple. Here's a Formula 1000 car dropping in. I'm not sure who would have won a flat-out drag race, but with his cornering speed it was rather a moot point.

Same day, a modified Porsche Turbo and a McLaren had their way with me. Although I'd like to point out that this was with my old engine. I want a rematch

466 wheel hp (call it 500 at the crank and you're not far off) and 2450 lbs. More importantly for 4th gear laps, it has 400 or more torques from 2800 to redline.
BTW, after I lapped our Exocet in a session, the boss commented that the Targa car was faster than he'd be comfortable with. It's definitely stepped into a different league. But that big flat powerband makes it really easy to drive.

Unless you're running a Spec E30 or Spec944 ;)

I watched the entire video... partly because I kept expecting you to pass him again within the ~6 minutes.
I'm not gonna lie, I sighed a little heavy last night after stepping into my bone stock miata, thinking of the potential... I can't get over how amazing this vehicle is, and yes I went through all 1100 posts last night. Next to the olive drab LS2/RX7, this may be my favorite swap car out there.
Kudos.

I'd like to see that rematch!
Still amazing that your car, that is race car and wouldn't be overly comfortable to drive on the street is outmatched by two very high tech supercars that probably quite comfortable on the street. I consider a LS swapped Miata to be the pinnacle of "streetable" power-to-weight, but I guess money still can buy a truly amazing car.
Have you been on track with a GTR?
Give me another $100k of budget and I can blow them off the track while making my car more comfortable What you see there is the difference between power/weight and power/drag. My new engine has me going 12 mph faster on that long straight (with a headwind), so I think the bigger motor alone would make quite a difference.
If we had my new engine in Betty, our 2009 V8 street car, I'll bet it would still be a pretty close fight down the straight. And it's comfy enough for a cross country road trip. In fact, that's where it is right now. Still, if it takes a super car to pull away from the 20-year-old car that I built, I'm okay with that.
I haven't had a good chance to play with a GTR for some time. There was a fairly new Viper on race rubber at the last event, but he was avoiding me.

He actually went out right in front of me on one session and pulled in after the warm-up lap
Just thought of something else on the McLaren and the 911 - both of those cars are turbocharged, so they weren't badly affected by the altitude of High Plains Raceway. I'm down about 18% on power versus sea level. Now I REALLY want a rematch.
