I knew you guys couldn't help but wonder what?
So, I have a little dilemma on my hands.
I've been sorting out an 03 forester for my partner because shes over daily driving her dc2 integra. Said integra has tien coilovers, type r strut braces, solid poly engine mounts, poly suspension bushing and a vaugley obnoxious exhaust. It's also bright freaking yellow, so tends to grab a bit of attention. This starts to wear thin after a while and hence the forester.
The integra was supposed to be sold once the forester was ready to roll, but we both like the teg and know that it's the kind of car that will be a pain in the ass to sell.
So now for the dilemma.
I also have a stalled Honda prelude project. It's a 92(4th gen) with about 70k miles, problem is the body and interior are not in a good way due to poor storage. While I don't like admitting defeat on a project I'm thinking it's time the prelude moves on.
So, I started (foolishly) investigating h engine swapping the integra.... Turns out I can buy nearly everything needed straight off the shelf or from the junkyard.
The idea of putting a low mile h23a engine and manual box into a dc2 is pretty appealing, but I can't help but wonder if it's worth the mucking about.
What says grm?
The H23 is kind of a dog without boost. It won't provide much more scoot than the B-series that's already in there.
I don't know why you think the DC2 would be hard to sell. Kids love those things and ones that aren't completely riced out or in rough shape are pretty hard to find. If you're worried about the color, get it plasti-dipped.
If you really feel the need to swap your low mileage H23 into something, take the money you get from the DC2 and get a clean 5th gen civic.
OP is in Australia which may change the sale-ability of the Teg.
I'd lose the prelude and keep the teg.

Boost isn't out of the question. What makes you say the h23 is a dog? I found it fairly capable in the heavier prelude, sure it's no k series but it's not without its merits.
It's not so much a hard sell as a painful sell. Unfortunately what makes it a desirable car is what will make it a pain to sell. It'll attract no end of dumb kids, ricers and stance bro's.

Your on the money, integras are a lot easier to get here and so they don't command the prices they do in the US. Whilst it's a Fairly nice example, the mods done will attract pain in the ass buyers.
We are definitely leaning towards keeping it, it's more wether or not we should do the h swap.
