We did this at Billetproof last year for charity. The 318 had 200k miles. I drained the oil and held it at 5000 rpms. I put a throttle cable and ign switch in the bed.

I've yet to have someone explain how or why I was able to do that with a 75-shot of nitrous on a previously running motor.

I had a 4.3 in a boat that the previous owner had used automotive head gaskets on after overheating. A few seasons of salt water ate through the gaskets and hydro-locked one cylinder leading to a rod with bends in both directions. Luckily no cylinder damage, new rod, old piston, rings, and bearings, and marine gaskets and good for several more seasons until sold.
I wish my catastrophic failures were't pre digital camera. I'd have broken 6.2L diesel cranks, Hyundai excel piston/head damage from broken jet valves, and holed snowmbile pistons to add.

The best part of this shot is the look on the driver's face. "What the..."
well, that and the ad for a motor builder on the front fender....
24 cylinders, 12 supercharger, 29 liters, 9000 lbs. This thing is the king of one kind of blown engine. I suspect in may not be long before it's also the king of the other kind of blown engine.

What no JB weld?
Here's my friend, John's MGA motor after he blew out both sides of it at Watkins Glen in 2010 (the yellow thing is a light).
Go ~HERE~ (to about 1:25) to view an in-car video from my Sprite and then from his MGA when the engine failed. His MGA is the blue car that passes me.
