From reading previous posts about the then-upcoming Rolex 24 hour race, I know that some of us were going to be taking our cameras there and taking photos. Did anyone get some good shots that they'd like to share?
For me, getting that iconic shot at the International Horseshoe with the Ferris wheel in the background at night is one of the most difficult captures to get! The cars are relatively close and changing rate of speed rapidly, you have to battle to get a good spot at the fence, and you have to have have something to get you above the fence. Also lots of pro photographers between the fence and guardrail that may be blocking the view. Lots of factors that make my keeper rate >1% of the shots I take there. In contrast, getting a decent shot at the West Horseshoe is easy.
Here are a few of mine. I was ecstatic to get a couple of decent shots at the International Horseshoe. The first one of the WTR Lambo ticked all the boxes - car itself is in focus and sharp (mostly), Ferris wheel is in the frame (check), brakes are glowing (check), and there is the bonus of a large exhaust backfire from the downshift. Technically, it's not a great pic, but I'm very pleased with it. I got another keeper of the same car at the West Horseshoe four hours earlier, only the backfire wasn't as dramatic.
Show us the shots you are happy with!
