Want to put a single wiper on my kelmark gt, like the pick below. Not like what you see all over the internet were they take both wipers off and put the driver side on the passenters side sticking up at a 45 degree angle.
Linkage, man, we need linkage.
Watching the tube of u's with the gf about tiny houses, scamps, and rvs, I noticed wipers on an rv the had linkage and remained verticle throughout its pass.
Anybody do this, what did you get the arm from?
Yea, I should be rerouting my cooling, working on heating ducts, getting full throttle on the ej22 with the beetle gas pedal...... but add has kicked in, and not the good one of automotive deficit disorder..
I have very little constructive, but this was a priority on the Elise, and they eventually got there by tilting the drive a few degrees towards or away from the windshield. It wasn't the linkage type you posted, however.
Mercedes had a weird single wiper that telescoped to get the desired effect. Way too complex and heavy for your plan.
You could change your linkage ratios to get more sweep.
Project Binky wiper episode (video)
Long Elise video very cool, but not much pertinent
Looks like busses use what you are looking at. could be cut down.
My '01 Jaguar XJR has a single wiper blade. It's actually quite effective

Mercedes W124? Other Merc's had them iirc.

FYI the W124 has a funky eccentric pivot inside the mechanism such that the arc traced is not just a portion of a circle. It does cover a lot of the windshield, but I've heard they have a tendency to break. Mine hasn't, yet. The early W201s have a simple single wiper, single pivot system.

I expected a photo of a Kelmark GT. That photo was a shock but a pleasant one. :-)

You have to remove it from the car, open it up and put new grease. When the wiper starts to slow down and seems blocked by something is usually the sign that maintenance is required.
1st generation Scirocco had a single wiper.

Only some of them though.
Impulse is single wiper, though doesn't stay vertical.
Look at marine wipers. They may have what you need.
I had a Benz 300e with a single blade. It would cut a half circle, retract itself a bit, go straight across the center, and then punch out an arc on the other half. Quit a bit of engineering if you stand there watching it while on high speed. Single motor.

Early Mk1's had dual wipers, but most sold seem to be single, the mk2 had it on the 82 and 83 models, but dual on 84 and up

Ya. I was surprised they made Kelmarks way back in 1965. :-)

If you dont need the look and horizontal alignment of the wiper, most linkages can be modified for a full sweep. Lemme find a link;

Here is a decent writeup of what I am trying to explain.
Clearly you need to cannabalize a 904

If I had a 904, I would not be trying to put a single wiper on a kelmark.

The 2012 - 16 Yaris has single blade system.
Might be able to mess a bit with the arm to get what you are after.
