I knew the Cizeta V16, Dome Zero, and VW W12 from Gran Turismo. Also recognized the XJR15, W8, and Speed 12.
I'm here to tell you that Acura blatantly stole the first gen NSX front end styling from Nissan.
Here's proof
I recognized the following (in reverse order):
Yammie OX99
VW W12
Vector
TVR Speed 12 - fun fact, the only roadgoing Speed 12 was sold to that freak from The Prodigy in a burst of "money talks"
Spectre
Qvale Mangusta
Panther 6
Jag XJR-15
Dome Zero
Cizeta V16 - though I had no idea the V16 was transverse
Barabus TKR
A/M Bulldog

Is it just me, or does the rear panel of that car look almost exactly like a GTR?
The Vector people had a display at the L.A. Car Show in '78 or '79. I was there. Near as I could tell, the car was either cardboard or plywood. Looked cool, though. Vaporware for 15 years, then they make one.
In reply to Nick Comstock :
It really only looks that close from that angle. It's a "Japanese mid-engine car" style, anyway - the 1st gen MR2 looked a lot like that, too:
And the NSX was a good bit different from a different angle:
In reply to mainlandboy :
How does the motor turn the transmission? I'm looking at that, and I just don't understand. Is the transmission really offset to one side?
The engines are joined at the flywheel side and likely use a 90-degree geardrive to connect to the transaxle.
I suspect the transaxle is centered, but the picture is misleading.
