HVLP, sub-$200. My cheapo harbor frieght is just not going to cut it for a nice paint job on my saab. Needs to be able to shoot metallics

Checkout Autobody Toolmart... They did have a Devilbiss Mini Touchup Gun, A 1.7 or 1.8 Primer Gun and a 1.4 or 1.3 Base/Clear Gun. for $179.

Grab a used Sata off of eBay.

+1 for the used Sata. The one I got about 10 years ago still works better than anything else I've tried, and parts are available almost anywhere.

I have the DeVilbiss Starting line series and they are good guns, but I wouldn't order them again because there are very few different sized tips available for them. Instead I would go with the DeVilbiss Finishline series or find a nice used Sata or Iwata.

I've got a brand new SATA mini/detail HVLP gun in the garage that's doing nothing but I'd think the postage to the US is going to be a killer. Especially as the regular mail over here is plagued by strikes at the moment.

I can find out if you're massively interested in it.
