46k for a focus. Yeah, not. If you're excited about this, it's too late for you.

Have a source for that number?

At that price I'll add a few more and go with an RS3 just for the 5 cylinder sound.

I would be willing to bet the pricing will be on par with a new Mustang GT

How much were new Evo X's going for this year? Especially MR's

It's more badass than the last Evo or current STi, and more wheel drive than a Mustang GT. I expect it to be priced right there with the Sube. A WRX STi Limited is 40k before you add any options. So... probably $46k loaded, out the door is a reasonable guess. You will probably be able to get one without all the doohickeys for $41k.

I'm not sure why that is shocking given the specs on the car. There isn't much you can buy in that performance envelope that is significantly less. How much is that tarted up FWD Civic R-Type these days? $36k?

Based on absolutely nothing, I think it will be well under $40k. I mean, an STI is $36k, they know they can't go too far above that.

But getting one from a dealer at anywhere near that price could be difficult for a while....

Exactly a base STi is $36k.

I say $34k base and optioned out $46k. Ford knows how to option.

It needs to be below or close to a Base GT stand but above the EcoBoost to make any sense.

^^^^This. Didn't Ford initially indicate they were going to keep the numbers limited and the price higher so as to not compete with the ST? At any rate, it's looking like it going to be good so the inevitable dealer gouging will occur.

How about a stingray corvette.

C7 or focus. Yeah, that's a tough decision.

Where are you getting a C7 for under $50k? Stripper base model? Maybe I don;t know. I guess it's possible. You could just go buy a used Aston Martin for $40k because berkeley you that's why... I mean... I get it, you don't want an Escort RS... really, neither do I. I am a RWD race car guy. It's not my thing. But why the animosity? Were you molested by one?

I think they need to price it under $40k or folks may still go for the STI.
I bet they price it $10-12k more than a loaded ST.

I'll check it out when it comes in, but I really don't want to part with my turbo AWD Speed6 just yet.

Ha, a 400hp sti with a blown motor

I love my Subarus and have owned like 10 now. But an honest 400hp sti is not very common.

I bet there will be some cool Euro comparos of A45, Focus RS, RS3, Golf R, maybe STi, 135 hatch. I've been in Germany the last week, quite jealous of all the hatchback and wagon love. RS3 sedan while cool with the I5, would just move me more as a hatch.

As long as price isn't bonkers I really may get one of these. In that crazy blue. Ford RS in the US is awesome, and besides I'm Subaru gun shy after owning one, Evo is on its way out, and the Golf R just doesn't seem special enough. I want something more in your face.

Nice thing about this Ford is that it may make Mazda raise it's design sights a bit on the new Mazdaspeed 3 to be released in 2017.

2015 Focus ST loaded comes in at roughly $29,000. I am going to go out on a limb and say that they are going to list the RS at $34,000 base, and under $40K loaded. I know it's a dream, but man would that be awesome.
