Something died in the vent system

How do you get rid of the Oder ? I pulled the blower an cleaned everything I could reach. I need help.

Reminds me of the time we poured a Bass Smoothie down this guys defroster vents cause he stole some E36 M3 from us.

Good luck with that. Might want to pour the system full of Fabreeze or dryer anti-static tissues.

Mold in the A/C evap core and box and plugged drains, likely. My 525iT was not good smelling. I made sure both plugged drains were clear, pumped a mild bleach solution into one w/ the other capped of, soak, repeat, flush.

The condensate had been overflowing into the duct that feeds the back seat HVAC vents, so the rear footwell carpet on one side was wet. Eventually it dried, then I followed up with 1Z Einszett Klima-Cleaner. You spray it into the HVAC air intakes, in my case under the hood. The car smelled like a citrus-ey hospital for a couple days, then like nothing.

It's the rare 14 year old BMW that doesn't smell like a damp dog. Oh, I also resealed the rear door inner moisture barriers as well.

I turned the blower on and it was off balence. Pulled the cabin filter found a nest and 2 live babies. I think the fan ate one and dispersed it out. I didn't find any pieces though.
