What will happen to F1, Grand Am, V8 Supercars? Don't care about most of the other stuff.

Honestly, that's probably the best news ever for non-NASCAR racing. Now that the perceived racing channel is dead we might actually get something akin to the original Speedvision to fill the void. Bring back same-day WRC, live F1, and Bud Lindaman!!
Based on what I saw (from the inside) when Turner tried to turn Cartoon Network into Disney/Nickelodeon, it has the potential to go quite badly. Nowdays, CN just holds the channel space open until Adult Swim (ironically, run by the people who were running CN during the "glory days" in the `90s) comes on. I still think this kind of this is what's killing Cable TV. All the channels start to look & sound alike, so people watch Netflix or videos on the internet.
They may have a go at it because it's sports..I know a lot of people who would give up cable in a heartbeat if they could watch their ball games somewhere else. As far as the cool racing goes, there will probably be a 1hr "Racing Across the World" summary & highlights once a week.
The article said: News Corp is targeting its Speed channel, which is currently devoted to Nascar auto racing.
Yep, pretty much sums it up.
You guys may piss and moan about speed being mostly nascar, but I'm just glad I can see cars/racing at most any time of day. I kinda saw this coming, since I caught some sort of MMA on speed a few months ago.
