Some may know I have a recently purchased 05 Audi Allroad.
Staying in Port St. Lucie while working here a couple more weeks, and might need a hitch on trip home.
Cheesey hitch is almost $200, small receiver only.
2" receiver hitch that mounts to rear frame bolting, is almost $500, and I don't like where the receiver sits.
I need help with a 4" x 3/16 plate, about 4' long. 4pc 1/2" holes on each end. 2" receiver tube welded to it; minor reinforcement.
My only day off each week is Thursday,  but could start project, drive to work for a week, and then finish the next week.
Long shot, but I'm sure we have some enablers within an hr or two!!!

Thanks.

Is that something maybe hitting a yard would help?

Sady the hitch that mounts to frame, and has 2" receiver is very rare, and exits under bumper cover in an odd and ugly way.
The "cheap" hitch (I'd get for short term, but it ain't cheap) mounts to the bottom of the (sheetmetal) spare tire well surprise

Even my pitifully poor welding skills, (although good fab work) can do what I need. Just need a drill press and a hot metal glue gun!

I'll look at 'em, but prolly out of my meager financial ability.
Also , most shops don't like welding a home design trailer hitch!

even though mine will be MUCH better than mounting to sheetmetal. cheeky
