i have a 99 miata and everytime i drive theres a super strong gasoline smell that comes from the engine bay. I cant find where it might be leaking from :(   theres also like this rattling/knocking noise while the car is running. ive looked all over and ive even tried using that UV dye but i still dont see any signs of a fuel leak...it seems like its not getting the same gas mileage either ( another reason why i think its leaking somewhere).   is there any way i can find out what might be wrong without having to take the engine apart? all constructive input is appriciated

Well, break out the lighter for some lighting... you'll need to laminate the area to check for leaks.

Trace the entire fuel system.  Start at one end and work to the other.  With the car running and a strong smell, something is leaking.  Keep a couple of fire extinguishers handy.  Very dangerous and don't drive it.
