Hey guys,

Last fall I pretty forcibly removed the stock muffler on my (mostly stock) '96 NA8 Miata in a perfect sequence of pot holes. Now I need to replace the cat back before it comes out of winter storage.

What I'd like is a subtle, not super loud, droney, raspy, or ugly cat back BUT I only have like $3-400 worth of interest in this and I need to fix the car sooner than later.

The most attractive options at this price seem to be the "new and improved" Cobalt or Yonaka... but I can't find the Cobalt available anywhere other than Moss, which is currently shut down, and the Yonaka seems to be available only for pre-order to ship at the end if July.

So my question is: are there other options that I should be considering? Or is the "new" Cobalt currently available elsewhere? Or should I just accept defeat and buy a stock replacement? FWIW, I'd also happily buy a used FM/RB/Roadstersport/etc if I could find one.

I'd get the cheapo eBay manzo or whatever exhaust kit. Start there, then add a milder muffler and a good cat. Should be able to accomplish this on that budget.

Yay, glad you found one.. I was going to suggest Roadstersport ones as an option. Had a Racing Beat on my NA8 and had a drone at certain rpm's.
