Why didn't these guys bring the car back to the Challenge this year?

Because they would have lost.

I did not know Jay Leno and Jim Hall signed it.

Epic.

I am surprised, but very pleased, that Jim Hall signed it. He's somewhat private, but was my hero back in the day.

All except the part where they mangled the name of the magazine.

Ebay recommends getting it inspected before you buy it! , I wonder if Danny Popp signed it too

I love the picture of the vette with the other sucker cars the best. It feels like it took its rightful place parked next to the legendary Chaparals.

So what's the FMV of 3,000 man-hours of engineer design and assembly?

Did anyone else read the comments on that KYPost article and want to slap the authors?

You know what, I hope Jay Leno buys it. That way it will be seen by others, taken care of and actually driven. It would be sad for this to be parked in a museum or hidden in a private collection somewhere so early in its life.

Oh no, was that car illegal?

"One of our managers allowed us to use P&G’s shop to build the car after hours and on weekends."

  1. Work that is performed at a commercial, for-profit place of business must be billed to the budget at fair market value.

P.S.- I don't care, I'm stirring some E36 M3.

Have you been there? I was kidding. Oh no! I work at a salvage yard and used the tire changer once and didn't bill it! I don't care how many engineers you have or what kind of shop you have access too, chances are, if you come to the challenge, you will be taken to school by some drunk dudes from Georgia and man that throws junk together in a barn in Pennsylvania.

"Throws junk together?" Yeah, the one descriptor that pops into my head when I think of a Nelson car is "thrown together." 8)

Alright, I'll concede that one. How about "scientifically and mathematically assembles junk in a fashion that makes crappy old cars look really cool and go stupid fast".
