hmm.....
That showed up on my local FB feed. If that had been sub-$2k I probably would've had a gastropod by now.

It's like 10 minutes from me lol....he also has that electric cart thing next to it posted up for sale as well. Not sure about whatever that is on the left....
I think it's a Laser 917 kit. I recall seeing them advertised in the back of car magazines in the late 1970s.
One of very many 917 kits. I think everybody who made kit cars in the 80s had a 917 at one point or another.
Perversely, 5k might be a bit low nowadays.

It’s amazing how times change. I saw those too and I wanted one BAD. Now they look hideous.

By the looks of the front suspension a VW/bugatti kit car perhaps.....or that other mess mercedes ssk100?
Back in the 70s there were many companies that had molds for Porsche race cars and many others ,
I have no idea how close this body is to the original , but I wonder if it ever got on the road , it has a windshield but no wiper set-up , etc
These always take 5x the hours you think it will take to finish them !
At first i thought that had a 911 under it and saw ridiculously cool project potential. Now i know it has a VW under it and while i'm less interested i think 5k is still pretty reasonable.

Either that does not mean what at least one of us thinks it means, or you have an extremely high tolerance for... whatever having to live with that thing would qualify as. Iocaine, maybe, to continue the Princess Bride analogy, at the risk of the analogy breaking down.
(I thought the "Gastropod Class" was a car with the idea that you would happily have the car you built as the only car you owned: it was the car that you relied on to get to work and run errands with. Pay your taxes. Help your landlady take out her garbage.) (Crud, wrong movie)
