My ex, my wife and my daughter have all hit the garage.  You pay your dues for not being a bachelor.

My wife backed into my RX-7 when we were dating and then, a number of years later, backed into another one of my cars.

I feel your pain.

Condolences.  I have had a couple of close calls so should consider myself lucky:

1) Wife in CT200h with roof rack, cargo box and bicycle was trying to drive into the open garage door.  She had the windows closed and a car full of kids.  I screamed STOP! and closed my eyes waiting for the CRUNCH of expensive car roofs, garage doors and bicycles.  Luckily she heard me, stopped and was only somewhat annoyed that I yelled at her.

2) Daughter #2 in my brand new to me M240i that I had backed into the garage.  She gets in and starts it up.  She assumed it was in neutral and immediately pops the clutch as the engine is flaring up as part of the start up sequence.  The e-brake was on, but not really hard.  She proceeds to do a small burnout in the garage, lucky for me the door was open.  Before she knew it she was a car length through the open door.  No harm done.  If I had parked in nose first she would have nailed the concrete wall of the foundation or if the door had been shut she would have gone right through it.  She did the same thing a few days early, but out on the street.  Slow learner I guess.

My wife ripped the right side view mirror of her (now mine) GX470 coming into the garage.  Since the mirrors break away I'm still puzzled how she managed to do it.  When I asked her how fast she was going she didn't answer.

I found a mostly matching blue one on eBay for $125 and put it in myself.

Choose your words carefully, maybe next time try, park the car in the garage.

Funny, I said next time, as if you will ask again.

For sure, just try a local salvage yard.  You can probably find a bumper cover in the right color that doesn't need repainting.  Car-Part is actually a fair deal price-wise if you don't have time to hunt for it in person.  But truck freight for a bumper cover and assembly was $200 the last time I did it, so local is the best.

Take pictures. Get them developed. Save them in your “back pocket” for when you need to remind her.

(And don’t forget to write in the costs and labor associated with the repairs on the backs of the pictures)

Yeah, see how that goes.

I've found memory is a one-way deal with wives, it's alright for them to recall something you did but lawd help you if you try to remind her of something she did. You'd better have a big comfy dog house.

The only damage on my mazda5 after 206,000 miles of driving is a spot on the front bumper where my wife backed out of the garage turned hard and ran into it. She didn’t want to tell me it had happened because I had JUST repaired the bumper cover and back door on her van after she had backed into a pole in a parking lot. I said nothing but I did not repair her car or mine so that it was there....

My friend's wife bumped the front garage wall off the foundation when she backed up her Dodge Caravan with the driver's side door still open. I was in disbelief when he told me, can't imagine how much of a hurry she was in!

That sucks, but at least now I know that there's one upside of my not having a garage...

Well, I have a garage now but no wife. It was a good trade laugh.

My ex-SWMBO liked to shut the garage door on her way into the house from the garage using the wired remote next to the man door leading into the basement. Normally this was fine but she would forget that she left the lift gate open on our Explorer. The curved steel arm connecting the garage door to the track made a nice, narrow racing stripe on the composite panel beneath the rear window. Luckily, due to the shape of the hatch, the arm missed the window glass by 1/2".

Guess who got blamed for it? Nevermind that I drove my F150 everyday AND parked in the driveway.

Even after she did it a second time (matching pin stripes!), it was still my fault somehow indecision.

I'm really enjoying my garage though laugh.

I feel your pain. My wife drove straight into a large pine tree she had parked in front of. New front bumper. Next week she backed into a semi truck. She was pregnant at the time so I said...

I loove my wife....

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound so serious. Nor do I mean to sound personally insulting but I never quite understood this mentality. Maybe it’s just fun to say or something.

I don’t consider myself superior in any way to my wife but if I ever feel I can’t remind her of this kind of thing for “fear” of sleeping on the couch or the proverbial doghouse... I don’t have words.

Not sure when men became afraid to speak up or sat idly by when their wives had a “selective memory”. Again, I’m sorry if this sounds personal but that line “lawd help you” just baffles me.

SWMBO put our Jetta in the hospital for three weeks recently.  Someone stealthily drove in with a bigass truck, dug a hole next to the gas island and planted an 8" diameter steel pole full of concrete!  When she drove away from the pump she turned right into it.  "It wasn't there when I pulled in".

Smile and nod Woodman, sex by yourself is less fun.....

I’ve done it.

I was trying to back my 2011 Accord close to the garage wall and spaced out and smashed the life out of the passenger mirror.  The sound of breaking plastic and shattering glass was incredible.

Yeah, my partner and I recently got a new couch. I told her that I couldn’t care less what it looked like as long as it was comfortable. When she asked why it was taking me so long to find something I thought was comfortable enough I told her “because sometimes I’ll have to sleep there”.
