I know the government won't let you do it, but I'd like another 1500 pound CRX HF with nothing larger than 16" wheels and a low beltline. Get rid of all of the infotainment and all of the power accessories and minimize NVH insulation. It wouldn't even need power steering or power brakes. And then keep it in production for 50 years unchanged.

Go directly to question 9. If your answer is shop/home built, don't bother wasting your (or HPD's) time with the rest of the survey.

I would think it would be valuable to HPD either way. If ‘home built’ people don’t fill out the survey, it really skews the results, and HPD might move away from parts support for those cars, and devote more resources to factory cars.

I'd like to think that those running an organization like HPD are better than torturing targeted marketing survey data that badly, especially with all of the existing sales data they have... But now that you mention it, maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic.
No manual transmission option for the one question. Dear Honda, I'll take a B Spec Fit please and thank you

I filled out the survey, but I don't think that I fall into their target market for these hypothetical race cars.
On an interesting side note...
I've been trying to buy a new Honda Accord for the last two months, and they don't seem to have any of those either.
Unless Honda brings back the S2000, whatever they make to race has to be a car they already make. And I don't really know what they make anymore.

First-gen CRX HF weight was around 1720lbs, not 1500lbs. Either way, it was damn light.

It is VERY fun to drive. Very tactile & stimulating. People's looks & comments are additional entertainment.
In Southern California in 1988 I had a 1979 CVCC 1300 that I got for $100. It had dealer installed a/c. I drove up to Long Beach & got a 1600 EK Accord motor from Watanabe - thus starting the Honda swap craze. Too bad I didn't file the patent.
The problem I see with this survey is that they don’t clearly define what type of racing their “rolling chassis” would run in. My price expectations are different between a T2 or T3 classed car and a TCR car.
People that designed the survey apparently never took the survey. Got about halfway and it was getting to complicated to reference back to try and figure out what the wording/answers meant to see if I needed to answer the rest of the questions or not.
Seems like they are thiking of making fully prepped race cars just by the bias in the # of questions per each topic.

My error... thanks for correcting me. I had to google it and that grey lower cladding always made me think it was only on the HF version. What an awesome car, though. I always wanted one but 2-seaters were always hard to justify when my family was always trying to be "sensible." 1500-1600lbs was always in that magic Lotus territory. Amazing what lightness does!

They already make fully prepped cars for pro racing. The Type R they make is an FIA certified TCR class car, and the Si they make runs in World GT America TC class. It may have other classes in Europe and Asia it runs in as well, but I havn’t seen those races on youtube if it does.

Just this afternoon I watched a video road test of the 2022 JDM Fit (no manual transmission). From the driver's seat it's a pretty decent looking car. From directly in front it looks like the car has run into a wall or as I commented: looks like a dolphin nosed front end. From the back 3/4s, it could almost pass as a small CUV but with smallish wheels/tires.
But again, too bad Honda has nearly completely eliminated manual transmissions from their cars.
I walked by a Honda dealer today to pick up my Wife's Mazda6 from the adjoining Mazda dealer. As I walked past all the new Hondas all I could think was "Wow, they seriously need to fire their entire styling department". As I walked past all the new Mazdas all I could think was "Wow, they really are the Japanese Alfa Romeo".
