In case anybody has wondered why Keith hasn't been posting to this forum lately, he's up running the Targa Newfoundland. Keith and Janel are leading the Open class after two days and Brandon and Zach are in a three way tie for first in GT class. Keith is keeping the fm site updated, as well as Flyin' Miata at Targa Newfoundland on FB. Brandon's navigator Zach is a writer for Autoblog, so updates there most days, too.

I've been following them on the Targa site and Autoblog, way cool! I'm wearing my sponsor shirt all week
In reply to Javelin: we appreciate the support, we couldn't have made it there without support from you guys.
I have been wearing my Targa T alot this week also, even at the NASA run offs last weekend. Keep up the good work.
I love the autoblog updates - with any luck, you guys will see an uptick in business after this adventure.
After three days, Keith/Janel lead Open by 21 seconds, Brandon/Zach still in three way tie for first in GT.
Killer news! What happened to the exotics?

Makes Keith's signature seem VERY appropriate.

Some bad news today. On the ninth and last stage of the day,, while leading the Open class, the main injection relay failed in Keith's car, causing a DNF. Brandon, Zach and almost everybody else in GT took penalties today, leaving only one car with no penalties. Brandon and Zach are now in fifth, 14 seconds off first place. Still in the hunt for sure!

Uh oh.... that's no good. Good on ya for what you've been able to do so far though.
Man what a heatbreaker, congrats for doing so well as that is one tough event.
The nice thing is that afaik, Keith will be able to continue if they can fix it. At least they then can get the experience without the pressure.
Hopefully they return next year....

I could have fixed the car right there on the side of the road if I'd diagnosed it in time - I even had a spare with me. Argh.
But it's just one stage, and we'll be back in the running today. It's not the worst thing that could have happened, it was a simple failure of a stock Miata part, not a big off. We were leading when it failed, and according to my math we're still in 3rd.
Here are my updates: http://targamiata.com/diary.php?start=933
Hurricane Maria is bearing down on Newfoundland. It might make the driving entertaining.
Keith's most recent updates here: diary work your way backwards.
Gordon Sleigh (official event photog) caught a highly modified Enzo taking a swim: Oops Start at picture five for the Ferrari. As you will see in Keith's journal, the main injection relay failed in the last stage yesterday, causing a DNF while leading the class. Brandon and Zach are currently fifth. Fingers crossed!
