looks like these here have been out for quite a while now, just seems interesting to me.
Anyone have any experience with the tci unit?
Anyway to set up and automatic to do the manual shift and engine braking for challenge budget?

So what is it exactly that's so different to allow the engine braking? Is it the controller or the converter?
And will it fit other transmissions with more gears?

For a 700r4 most definitely. There was a thread a couple years ago I posted in, that I believe Vigo & SkinnyG replied with the specific part numbers of two kits required to do just this.
T C I , is top notch, Trans go as well, If This is a project you can Tackle Go To Your local Trans Parts Wharehouse and Buy from them they have other options and needed Hard Parts, If You get a parts Book you can see different part combo's can be bought without too much duplcating. I use Trans parts Unlimited in Ellenwood Ga. S.Side of Atl off 675/75.
Somebeach carguy123, Ya'll's answer is in the Valve body , A Daunting Task but Really not,
I've posted before that The Hardest part was making sure of the colors and spring sizes so the correct spring is in the correct hole. Hey I Did it
.Some Tranny's Can achive this with a Valve body Shift Plate and that's really just changing a Gasket
Heck if it's a track car a400/350 may be better and lighter and and and. I Like a 200r4 for O D trans and a Powerglide for dedacated track would be great,

Thanks. I will have to read up some more.
In reply to Pete Gossett :
Thanks I will look for that thread. This is more about learning at this point than an actual project.
You'll need to log in to post.
