The C3 was a pretty good looking car and the previous owner did you a favour by grenading the original engine (which possibly put out a raging 195 bhp) giving you license to go more modern. The handling is OK, and there are tons of options for upgrading, so why not?
A friend owns one and as long as he can forget that it is slower than a ten year old Honda Civic, he still gets a kick out of it.

I wish more people would do this. When you mix and match parts on a 911 and run them in rally cross it's an Outlaw and all the Porschephiles want to know all about it. Do it with a Vette and you're an outcast from all Vette circles. Fine with me. I don't want to hangout with those lawn chair sitting car show types anyway. They bore me.
sorry for reviving such an old thread. A google search lead me here.
What the heck were you searching for?
I was thumbing an old print issue of GRM, saw madhtr’s C3, remembered it and punched it into my tablet. It’s been awhile since I heard anything about it. I knew he’d wrecked it at some point.

I know, I know resurrecting an old thread /again/.
The Dirtball is still around. Both Vettes got marooned in the back garage for the winter as the front bay is the only one tall enough for the Dajiban, and needed access to the JD 120 with the snowblower. Life just gets away from you sometimes... (well most all of the times )
I scored a 79 L82 motor for Money4Nothin, actually put it on the engine stand this weekend to tear it down to see if the forged rotating assembly is still any good.
